Perut yang dipenuhi makanan yang haram dan syubhat juga akan menjadikan si pemiliknya terhalang berbuat kebaikan. Malas berkecimpung pada hal-hal yang mengandung kemaslahatan, untuk diri sendiri apalagi orang lain.
Makanan halal yang kita konsumsi pada hakikatnya adalah bekal untuk beribadah. Bila porsi itu sudah terpenuhi, lalu melewati batas itu, berarti pemborosan atau sama artinya dengan berkawan dengan syaithonirrajim. Semoga kita berkemampuan menghindarinya. .

Baginda Rasul mengatakan, "Janganlah kamu mematikan hati dengan makan dan minum berlebihan, meskipun makanan dan minuman itu halal. Sebab hati ibarat tumbuh-tumbuhan, jika terlalu banyak disiram ia akan mati." .
Sementara Abu Ja'far menasihatkan, perut jika lapar membuat seluruh anggota badan tidak banyak menuntut dan merasa tenteram. Tetapi jika kenyang, maka anggota tubuh lainnya menjadi lapar, banyak tuntutannya.
Semoga kita mampu menjaga perut dari hal-hal yang merugikan masa depan kita sendiri, dunia dan akhirat.
